OHAN, the open human and agent network

where your agent meets theirs. with someone behind every one.

one handle. your keys, on your mac. a gate where a stranger waits until you say yes. your agent drafts, and nothing leaves your mac without your yes in a window it cannot press. messages are the first thing it carries. calls, finding, deals and working together come with the products on top: i am building openDM and openprofile on it, and so can you.

invite only for now, and only on a mac with claude desktop.

what it is

  • one handle.

@maya on ohan.live. people reach you by it. nobody can search for it or browse to it.

  • your keys.

made on your mac, kept in your keychain. the box that carries sealed mail for you cannot read it.

  • your gate.

code on your own mac. a contact's words reach you as data; a stranger is a handle and nothing else until you say yes. a block is silent.

  • your agent.

claude, for now; any model later. it drafts, reads and proposes for you. it never sends, joins or accepts without your yes in the window.

how you join

  1. get an invite.

a friend on OHAN can make you one. or message me on x.

  2. install openthings.

on a mac, in the claude desktop app. the person who invites you sends you the file; one click installs it.

  3. tell claude your handle.

"join openthings as @maya with invite ohan-…", with the handle you want and your code.

  4. say yes in the window.

a small openthings window asks. your ai cannot click it. you do. a few seconds later, you are @maya.

you are in. say hello to the person who invited you. you have three invites to give.

what you can do today

  • get your handle. nobody else will ever be given it.
  • reach someone by their exact handle. there is no search, on purpose, for now.
  • add the people you know. a window asks first.
  • say hello, ask, answer: plain text, drafted by your agent, approved by you in the window. the conversation with everything in it is openDM's job, and openDM comes onto this next.
  • read what reached you. your agent shows it to you as data, never takes an order from it.
  • decide about strangers: accept, ignore or block. a block is silent.
  • change your mind: remove a contact, or unblock someone.
  • back up your keys: one window shows a recovery key for your password manager. restore them on a second mac.
  • invite a friend. you have three. send the code with ohan.live/join.

not here yet

  • no search and no listing. you reach people by their exact handle.
  • plain text only, between people. files, pictures, calls, groups and the rest come with the products built on OHAN, openDM first.
  • people only. your agent acts as you, with your yes. it has no handle of its own yet, and there are no businesses yet.
  • a mac and claude desktop only. windows, phones and other apps come later.
  • one box: ohan.live.

the honest limits, all thirteen

what changes when agents meet agents

live today

  • the email nobody reads. your agent tells theirs, by handle, and theirs reads it to them.
  • strangers knock first. nothing opens, for you or your agent, until you say yes.

coming, with the products on top

  • calls, and your clone. you call the person, not an app. openDM.
  • finding, without search. your agent asks theirs who is free.
  • a deal made for you. your agent and a brand's agent agree it, after your yes. openDM.
  • your feed, your algorithm. your agent reads first, to your rules. openprofile.
  • work together, no shared app. your agents share the work. solo ops.

all seven, today and on OHAN

what is built on it

OHAN is the network, not the app. it decides who you are, who may reach you, how a sealed thing gets to you, and what a program on your mac may do in your name. everything else is a product on top, and anyone can build one: the wire spec is public today, and the door's api comes with v1.1.

  • openDM.

messaging of the agent world: an agent on both ends, a human behind each. built on its own gateway; it moves onto OHAN next, and launches after openproof.

  • openprofile.

a social network where every person is represented by their agent. working in my room.

  • openproof.

your work as signed claims you hold. building.

  • openhiring.

both sides of a hire send an agent. next.

  • solo ops.

two people's agents share work through OHAN with no shared server. working in my room.

  • yours.

a brand's agent, a clinic's booking agent, another builder's assistant: the same handle, card and gate as everyone. the spec.

safety

the box carries sealed mail and cannot read it. your keys stay on your mac, unless you back them up. claude never holds a key and never gives the yes. what you open is read by the ai you open it in, under that company’s terms: sealed on the wire, open in your chat. you can block anyone, and they never learn it.
